I'r nef
Y cyfyd f'enaid gwan ei lef
Yn eithaf grym y storom gref;
O'i eiriau Ef
fu'n rhodio'r don
Y daw i'm calon dawel hedd,
A gweld ei wedd sy'n llonni 'mron.
Fy Iôr
Sy'n drech na chedyrn donnau'r môr
Pan gyfyd yr elfennau'n gôr;
Fe wrendy'r cefnfor lais fy Nuw;
A diogel yw fy enaid trist,
Os Iesu Grist fydd wrth y llyw.
I'r lan
Y daw fy enaid yn y man
Os caf fy Ngheidwad imi'n rhan;
Yn hafan dawel nef y nef
'N ôl cyrraedd adref, gwyn fy myd,
Y gân i gyd fydd "Iddo Ef!"
John James Williams 1869-1954
Tonau [288.888]: |
To heaven
Shall raise my weak soul its cry
In the utmost force of the strong storm;
From the words of him
who walked the wave
Shall come to my heart quiet peace,
And see his face which cheers my breast.
My Lord
Is victorious over the sea's firm waves
When the elements arise as a choir;
The ocean shall listen to my God's voice;
And safe is my sad soul,
If Jesus Christ is at the wheel.
Up
Shall come my soul in a while
If I have my Saviour as my portion;
In quiet harbour of the heaven of heaven
After arriving at home, blessed am I,
All the song shall be "Unto Him!"
tr. 2025 Richard B Gillion
